Mark your calendars because Prince Harry and fianceé Meghan Markle have set a wedding date! Kensington Palace announced the news via Twitter, revealing that the happy couple will wed on May 19, 2018 at St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle. AH! That’s only five months away. If it’s anything like Prince William and Kate Middleton‘s wedding, then we’re in for a treat.
We think that the fact that Prince Harry and Meghan are getting married at the place where they spent a lot of their time together is both adorable and romantic! “Windsor is a very special place for Prince Harry, and he and Ms. Markle have regularly spent time there during the last year,” a spokesperson said when the wedding location was announced. “They are delighted that the beautiful grounds of Windsor Castle will be where they begin their lives as a married couple.”

Unlike other British royal weddings, which have taken place on weekdays, Prince Harry and Meghan’s special day will take place on a Saturday. The Royal family will pay for the ceremony, including service, music, flowers, food, and the reception. Meghan will also be baptized into the Church of England before the wedding.
The couple announced their engagement in November after dating for a little over a year. During their first interview together, the pair revealed that Prince Harry proposed to Meghan while they were trying to roast the kitchen. How normal of them? The former Suits actress even admitted that she could barely let Prince Harry finish proposing before she saying yes.
“There were hugs and I had the ring in my hand and I was like, ‘Can I give you the ring now?’,” Prince Harry explained during the same interview. “And she said, ‘Oh yes, the ring!’”
Now that the two are engaged, Meghan will join the family’s holiday traditions, too. Earlier this week, Kensington Palace also announced that the couple will be spending Christmas in Sandringham, which is Queen Elizabeth’s country estate. They will meet on Christmas Eve, where the family will exchange gifts and finish decorating the Christmas tree together.
It will be quite a busy few months for the Royal family, since Prince William and Kate are also expected to welcome their third child to the family soon as well. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, who already have two children together, Prince George and Princess Charlotte, announced that they were having another baby earlier this year. The gender of the new baby has not been confirmed yet, nor have they revealed what they want to name him or her.
Very exciting time to be a royal, huh? Now we can’t wait for Prince Harry and Meghan to get married so they could start having their own kids – if that’s what they want, of course!
