It’s been fifteen years since Cameron Diaz, Lucy Liu, and Drew Barrymore powered the franchise, but now Kristen Stewart, Naomi Scott, and Ella Balinska will complete the trio of new leading ladies in Elizabeth Banks’ upcoming reboot. The Pitch Perfect actress will not only direct, but she’ll also be playing the role of Bosley!
Fans of the beloved franchise will know that Bosley, a colleague of Charlie’s who often helps the Angels, has always been embodied by a man which is why we are SO HERE for this all-female cast.
“Charlie’s Angels, for me, is one of the original brands to celebrate the empowered woman since its debut in the ’70s,” Elizabeth said in a statement. “This film honors the legacy of Charles Townsend and his agency while introducing a new era of modern and global Angels. I couldn’t be more excited to work with Kristen, Naomi, and Ella to bring this chapter to fans around the world.”
According to Deadline, the film will follow a new next generation of Angels and see the Townsend Agency as a “worldwide security and intelligence service that now has teams around the planet.”
Let’s take a closer look at the new angels…
She may not be a household name just yet, but Naomi about to take Hollywood by storm. She’s best known for her role as the Pink Ranger in last year’s Power Rangers reboot, but she’ll also play Princess Jasmine in Guy Ritchie‘s upcoming live-action adaptation of Aladdin. She’s 24 years old, she’s from London, and she’s half British and half Indian.

Ella is relatively unknown in the United States, but that will undoubtedly change after she stars in this movie. She’s a 21-years old British actress from London who’s best known for her roles in the British television shows, Nyela’s Dream and Midsomer Murders.

Last, but certainly not least, we have Kristen – the only one from the United States from the bunch. If you were born in the last two decades, then you’ve probably watched her in all the Twilight films, as well as a ton of other movies like Speak and On the Road. This will be her first big-budget film since the vampire saga.
We think these three will make one killer team. We’ll always love the one we grew up watching, but every generation deserves their own trio of crime-fighting women! We can’t help but wonder if Cameron, Lucy, or Drew might make a cameo, though. How epic would that be?
